Please respond to Sanitation Survey!
In your mailbox this week should have been a survey from the City of Dallas about trash collection. Please take a few minutes to either respond by mail or online right away! Your feedback will help inform the City’s response taxpayer objections to their plan to move our trash collection from the alley to the curb.
Earlier this year, the City announced that Perry Heights and many other Dallas neighborhoods would be switching to curbside trash collection in July 2026. After more than 10,000 Dallas residents signed a petition objecting to this move, the change was temporarily suspended.

At the March annual neighborhood meeting, Perry Heights voted unanimously to oppose this move. Our alleys, which are owned by the City of Dallas, are in relatively good shape. Vandelia residents on the odd-numbered side of the street were forced to move to curbside trash pickup in 2021 because the City has failed to suitably maintain their alley.
Our goal is to work with other neighborhoods throughout the City to seek a solution to maintain alley trash pickup. The City website indicates that the level of interest in maintaining alley pickup will be gauged by the percentage of residents who respond, so please complete the survey today!

Absolutely want to keep alley trash pickup!
