Join your neighbors on March 25 at the Perry Heights Association Annual Meeting

Wednesday, March 25 at 6pm
Oak Lawn United Methodist Church
3014 Oak Lawn Avenue
Please join us for this year’s annual gathering of the Perry Heights Association when we will discuss key issues currently affecting our community, as well as upcoming social activities. Here’s a summary of what will be discussed:
- Maintaining our Neighborhood Character. At last year’s Annual Meeting, the neighborhood voted to explore the merits of establishing a Conservation District on North Hall and Vandelia streets (Rawlins Street already has Conservation District status) in response to the City’s push to increase housing density.
Since then, an exploratory committee of ten Perry Heights homeowners, led by David Skinner (4322 N Hall St), has been working through the City’s process to determine if Conservation District status will benefit our 104-year-old neighborhood. David and the committee will report on their progress at the Annual Meeting.
- Discouraging Cut Through Traffic. Following a neighborhood traffic study and resident survey, a committee led by Sydney Herndon (4518 Vandelia) was successful in gaining City approval to install additional stop signs in Perry Heights. She will report on the plan for these additional stop signs and other potential measures to limit the number of vehicles using our neighborhood as a shortcut between Cedar Springs and Lemmon Avenue.
- Keeping Alley Trash Pickup. In response to strong resident opposition throughout Dallas, the City has paused plans to move trash pickup from the alley to the curb in front of your homes. Unfortunately, the fight isn’t over. A reintroduction of the curbside trash pickup plan is possible despite 93% of the survey respondents opposing the plan. We will discuss ways to continue advocating for alley trash pickup.
Perry Heights Association Board members for 2026-2027 will also be elected at the meeting. If you are interested in serving on the board (or would like more information), please contact Tony Smercina via e-mail at tony.smercina@gmail.com or by calling 214.886.8588.
Thank you. Hope to see you on March 25!
Respectfully,
Perry Heights Association Board
